Given A Mission began as an on again off again blog I started in 2010. My husband recommended I start writing it as a way to share with others the different organizations, ministries, and humanitarians I really admired and wanted others to hear about. I chose to also use my blog as an arena to talk about world events and issues of injustice. I soon realized that the Given A Mission blog was just the beginning and that I desired to offer more, in conjunction with increasing awareness, to the organizations I admired and the people they served.
Through givenamission.org, I hope to give you an opportunity to support organizations like Jericho Road Ministries and The A21 Campaign, to name a couple, by purchasing handmade items from small business owners or up and coming artisans. Given A Mission will focus on featuring organizations and people that are not well known, but are making a world of difference in the lives of people around the world.
Given A Mission hopes to give you a closer look at humanitarians and groups that you may have never heard about. I think that many people desire to give in a way that seems significant and needed and it may not always seem evident when supporting extremely large and world renowned organizations. Given A Mission is desiring to be that difference. Please take a look around the site and share what you see with those you know.
A minimum 50% of proceeds from each item sold in the Web Store will be used to support organizations featured here on givenamission.org
